Etching is a great technique to transfer patterns onto the surfaces of your jewelry designs. It consists of using a protective coating on a metal surface to create a desired design element and then allowing acid to eat away at any exposed metal, leaving a raised pattern on the metal surface. Students will work in brass or copper to experiment with the different applications of desired patterns. Metal is included in the cost of the workshop.
