(NEW) Asian Metalsmithing Techniques
In this workshop we will explore 2 Asian Metalsmithing techniques - Mokume & Keum-Boo.
Mokume is a Japanese decorative technique that creates a wood grain pattern from layering multiple layers of contrasting metals.
Keum-Boo is a Korean metalsmithing technique where gold foil is fused to fine silver to create graphic or painterly accents of color to designs.
Materials: Students provide contrasting metal; silver, nu-gold, brass, copper (size and types of metal determined by student} and 4 feet of medium solder.
